Hardware/Software Codesign

Graduate students in Computer Science or Computer Systems

Organization:

Mainly lectures given by the teachers, which will be supplemented by seminars prepared by the participants.

The course runs every Wednesday 10-12 from March 25th 98 until may 98.

The course can be supplied to other universities via videoconferencing.

  • Embedded and real-time control systems
  • Hardware/software partitioning
  • Co-synthesis and code-generation techniques
  • Interface analysis and synthesis
  • Co-simulation and co-verification
  • Emulation and prototyping
  • Survey of co-design research
  • Case studies

Goals:

To present techniques for the concurrent design, or co-design, of hardware and software. Special emphasis will be placed upon methods and tools used for the development of embedded systems which are dedicated to specific applications and consist of tightly coupled hardware and software components.

Schedule:

Every Wednesday 10-12 from 25 March 1998 until may 1998.

Examination:

Term paper and seminar presentation.
