Rhetoric - the Art of Persuasion - in Theory and Practice
Lena Andersson,
Stockholm School of Economics
Do you write an article to decide who should go out with the garbage at home? Do you teach only by writing memos? Do you present yourself at a conference only with the written text? No, of course you talk!
This seminar we will talk about how to give talks. We will use knowledge both from the classic art of persuasion; rhetoric, as well as knowledge from modern presentation techniques and media-training.
This is the purpose of this work-shop
Introduce concepts from rhetoric, which can be used both as theory and practice, that is; both in analyzing and presenting messages.
Tools from modern presentation techniques and media-training, useful in teaching and at conference presentation. For example how to deal with nervousness and technical aids.
An opportunity to try out these new tools in a playful way (no force involved!).
Lena Andersson has been spent the last ten years studying, researching and teaching rhetoric.
