New Testing Techniques that Work
Dr. James A. Whittaker will present new tools and techniques for software testing that apply to any software system. The techniques are embodied in a new book called "How to Break Software" which has become required reading at many software companies in the United States. Dr. Whittaker will summarize the fault model that the techniques are based on and give a sample of how the techniques are applied. Although his examples must use desktop software (out of necessity), the techniques are directly applicable to embedded and real-time systems.
