Location

The location of the summerschool is the Södergarns kursgård which is located on the island of Lidingö, only 11 km from the centre of Stockholm ("en kvart från city").

Södergarn can be reached from Underground station Ropsten with buses numbered 202, 204, 212, 290 and 293. You should leave the bus at bus-stop "Södergansvägen". Information about the timetables can be obtained at tel. +46-8-236000. Alternatively you can take a taxi at (e.g.) Ropsten.

If you are driving turn towards Lidingö/Ropsten from Vallhallavägen. After passing the bridge to Lidingö, turn right in direction of Elfsvik. Stay on Norra Kunsvägen until you reach the exit to Södergarn (to the left). Follow the signs to Södergarns Kursgård. The below very simple map may be of some help:

Language

The "official" language of the Summer School is English, the initial (approx. 1h) presentation to the "Poster Session" Tuesday August 18 will however be conducted in Swedish.

Registration

To register for the workshop, please send an e-mail to artes@docs.uu.se, providing the following information:
  • Name, address and affiliation
  • Category (either "RT-graduate student", "ARTES engineer/researcher" or "external")
  • Dietary requirements (if any)
The fee covers lectures and other activities, meals, accomodation, and documentation.

Note that attendance is limited to 50 persons. Registration will be handled on a first-come first-served basis.

Fees

  • RT-graduate student: free of charge (note that graduate students at academic ARTES nodes can submit an application to be registered as RT-graduate student. Such an application has to be submitted before August 1st 1998 for this category to be applicable. For more information, please consult http://www.docs.uu.se/artes/gradschool/.
  • ARTES engineer/researcher: 5.000 SEK. This category is applicable for researchers and engineers at ARTES industrial or academic nodes.
  • External: 8.000 SEK. This category is applicable for those that do not qualify for any of the above categories.
