ARTES is a national Swedish strategic research initiative in Real-Time Systems supported by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF). ARTES forms a network of academic and industrial groups, with the ambition to strengthen the Real-Time Systems competence  nationwide. The main focus of ARTES is on graduate education and cooperation between industry and academia.
 

PhD Positions

Distributed Computing and Systems Research Group, Computer Science Department,
Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden
and
Center for Real-Time Systems, Dept. of Computer Engineering, Mälardalens University,  Västerås, Sweden



There are two PhD position available for research within the project "Applications of wait/lock-free protocols to real-time systems", whose aim is to develop and study new synchronization protocols and concurrent data structures, and evaluate them in the context of real-time systems at the operating system kernel level.

The positions are available in early 1999 and are funded by the ARTES  network of academic and industrial groups, which focuses on research on Real-Time Systems.

One of the positions is with the Distributed Computing  and Systems Research Group, at the Computing Science Department at Chalmers
University of Technology in Gothenburg and  the other with the  Center for Real-Time Systems, at the Mälardalens Un. at Västerås.

The project is in close collaboration with the Hard Real-Time Systems Research Group  at the Department of Computer Systems, Uppsala University and the Enea OSE Systems AB .
