Activity report Incremental Static Scheduling
Date: Thu, 04 Mar 1999
From: Jukka Mäki-Turja
- Litterature studies on incremental scheduling shows that there is
very little done in the area.
- Solved granularity problem in slot-shifting which leads to a
generalisation of the slot shifting technique. This enables a much
higher utilisation of the CPU and gives the incremental scheduler
more freedom.
- Handling interrupts in slot-shifting. Interrupts is an industrial
reality and must be solved in a efficient and predictable way. We
have found a method that conforms to slot shifting in a good way
without over-estimating the impact of them.
- Two papers are in progress and will be submitted during the spring:
1. Granularity problem in slot shifting
2. Interrupts in slot shifting
- Analysis of industrial requirements is in progress
- A student project on a tool set, grafical user interface for incr.
scheduler, under way.
